My New Blogging Mantra…

To Do List
Blog Today!

Punya Mishra once told me that his New Year’s Resolution a few years back was to blog every day so that, like brushing teeth, it became a habit he just couldn’t live without. In the moment, I thought — yes — great idea — I feel super awkward if I don’t brush my teeth in the morning…but there are children to care for and papers to write and dinners to get and laundry to do and groceries to buy and…and…and…
So, as it turns out, I still have to do all of this “life” stuff. Apparently, this isn’t going to be changing any time soon — and for this, I am extraordinarily grateful. I’ve been a total slacker on my blog, however and this needs to change.

So, here’s my new mantra: blog most days — like 4 or 5 out of 7. Although I’m a very committed brusher — twice daily at a minimum — I’m going to confess that my approach to blogging may be a little more like my approach to flossing — I fit it in when I have a few extra minutes (sorry Dr. Starkey). Life being what it is — hectic, challenging and full of surprises — I need to give myself a little latitude each week. I am, however, going to give this a real, honest shot.

So there it is. Blogging like flossing. Even if it’s not every day, it has to be better than not doing it at all, right?
