Thanks for your message Josh. Indeed. The MPT has raised many serious questions, including questions about the tech, its affordances, and frankly, the validity of the exercise, given how quickly it was developed and deployed. I have reached out directly to discuss the MPT with key decision makers…and it is my hope that they will work in students’ best interest.

The MOE’s mandatory math proficiency exam for teachers is bewildering on many levels. Being able to teach math and other subjects is not based solely one ones knowledge of the course material. In addition, from a technological standpoint the proficiency test is done electronically, on-line yet, candidates have to wait 20 business days for their results. Why not provide resulrs results at the conclusion of the testing?

I really enjoyed listening to this podcast (and I definitely miss being your student).
My school is building a maker space ( http://jonmitzmacher.com/2019/03/ojcs-building-first-school-based-makerspace-in-ottawa-wait-whats-a-makerspace/ ) and I am getting excited to incorporate it into my teaching. I would love to be able to connect and pick your brain on some ideas to enhance my Grade 2 students’ learning through some maker space projects!!
Thanks for sharing this podcast!

Comment on “What’s the deal with teachers’ obsession with Twitter?” by Mohsen https://mschirahagerman.com/2017/09/15/whats-the-deal-with-teachers-obsession-with-twitter/#comment-742 Sat, 05 May 2018 23:42:09 +0000 http://mschirahagerman.com/?p=1799#comment-742 I also think that who you follow in your social network platform defines what that network is for. More fun apps like Instagram can also become very professional if you are only following pages related to your profession.
Thanks
